- have led product and engineering teams at the CTO, VP Engineering, or Head of Engineering level - accountable for the technical direction of an organization across SaaS, platform, security, fintech, regtech, identity, or another technically demanding domain,
- are at home in a fast-moving, high-accountability environment - you solve problems directly, make clear decisions, and bring structure without manufacturing bureaucracy,
- have a strong product-engineering mindset - you read business priorities, work closely with product leadership, and make pragmatic calls that serve customer value, scalability, reliability, and speed,
- carry real technical credibility - hands-on enough to challenge an architecture decision, review a technical plan, weigh code-level trade-offs, and help a team unblock a hard problem,
- have genuine Python depth - you can read the codebase, weigh in on design, and hold the team's respect on technical ground,
- have led across multiple products, codebases, or technology stacks, and are at ease holding several technical and organizational contexts at once,
- understand AI-assisted development deeply enough to set the standard for it in a professional engineering organization - putting it to work without lowering the bar,
- are fluent in Hungarian and English.
It’s a plus if you...
- have production experience with React, Node.js, Java, or C alongside Python,
- bring cryptography or PKI experience - certificate authorities, digital identity, the parts of trust that are hard to get right,
- have built or operated in security-sensitive or regulated industries,
- know SaaS platforms and modern cloud or hybrid infrastructure,
- have introduced AI-assisted development practices into engineering teams - not just used them yourself, but changed how a team works.

As CTO, you own every technology function at Netlock - product development, engineering operations, architecture, platform reliability, support, and the team you'll grow to carry it all. The job isn't just to keep things running: it's to modernize, scale, and innovate without ever loosening the reliability and security a trust provider is built on.
What makes this role different is the phase you'd be joining. This isn't a blank-slate startup, and it isn't a static legacy environment to maintain. Netlock already has products, customers, regulatory obligations, infrastructure, and deep domain expertise - and it's now investing in new product lines like Netlock Content Suite, AI-enabled development, and the next generation of digital trust services. This is a hands-on CTO role. You'll set direction, build teams, and shape engineering culture - and still go deep into architecture, code, delivery, security, and operations when it matters. You'll work closely with the CEO on company strategy and with the CPO on product direction and roadmap, turning market opportunities into technology that scales.
